The whole experience. Staff were friendly, yet professional without being over formal. Hotel very stylish, yet not uncomfortably so.
Shame they can't have a couple of cask ales available, but then I generally go out anyway for my evening pint. Also the terrace smoking area would benefit from a couple of inverted flowerpots and saucers instead of the inadequate, enclosed ashtray.
The hotel had a lot of charm, the rooms were comfortable and clean, excellent value for money, good food and above all fantastic service. I was sick our last night and when it came to check out time i was still very ill and the staff went above and beyond to help while i arranged to see a doctor i didnt feel pressured to leave they were excellent. I would go back without a doubt.
Clean, efficient - no problems whatsoever and excellent value for money
We have enjoyed the central location and the cleanliness. There was a late opening store nearby and it was just an easy stroll to the sea.
Unfortunately the wallpaper was pealing off the walls and we did not feel like sitting on the seating in the downstaits reading room. Most disappointingly we were not able to use the pool table and when asked we were told that the facilities were not available.
The staffs are very warm and friendly.
The hot water went cold in the middle of the shower. The breakfast is quite poor as well.
Helpful staff; pleasant atmosphere, easy parking. Very good value.
Room too warm; food average.
Clean and basic room, good base for exploring the Isle of Wight. Friendly and welcoming staff.
The room was clean and of a good size and the beds were comfortable. The full English breakfast was excellent value for money.
The staff were so cheerful and considerate.they worked well as a team (especially when very busy)
Not realy ........we had a very enjoyable time
The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was excellent.
The room was small and there was no lift or baby changing facilities.
Extreme friendliness of all staff, always had a smile and looked to enjoy their work. Unique atmospheric decor and sense of history with panelling from "SS Aquitania" - yes it was old fashioned, but that is its charm. Pretty garden setting.
A bit worn in places - if you expected the Hilton you will be disappointed.
The staff were freindly and raised the entertaiment level from mediocre to good.
The bed, which is a main part of bed and breakfast, and the pillows were very uncomfortable, clean tidy but not a pleasant eperiance.
The breakfast was very good and the bed was comfortable. The discount obtained for the ferry crossing was a bonus
The bedroom was cold - the hotel provided us with a portable radiator. The hot water was scalding - which would be dangerous for children staying at the hotel
The family room was really nice, fairly big with comfy beds, singles for the kids. Tiny bath though and pretty poor shower! Good breakfast. The hotel was a 10 minute walk to the beach although down a fairly steep hill! Entertainment in the bar every night which wasn't too invasive for those of us sitting upstairs!
The internal decor was intresting. Breakfast was excellent
pasts of the hotel decor was tatty
